AL Dante: a sales site for a food cinematography school, staged like a film and running its own checkout
AL Dante is the food cinematography channel of Max, a filmmaker and editor, and Victoria, a chef, followed by 1.6M people on Instagram (September 2026). We designed and hand-coded the website of their school: a recorded course of 90+ lessons, a monthly club with live sessions and one-to-one mentorship by application, sold through the site's own checkout with student accounts.
(01) — Challenge
Where it started
Online education · Miami, FL
The channel already had the audience; the school behind it needed a site that could sell to it. There are 4 products at 4 levels of commitment: a paid webinar recording, a recorded course of 90+ lessons, a monthly club with live sessions, and private mentorship that starts with an application. Each needs its own argument and its own way in, and none of them should crowd the others out. Payment had to work for an international audience that pays by card, through PayPal or in crypto, and paying students needed an account to log in to. The site also had to look like the work it sells, which is cinematic food video.

What we built
Hand-coded. Design, build and handover by the same people.
We designed and hand-coded the site as a film. The homepage is cut into numbered scenes, from Scene 01, The Offer, to the FAQ, each opening with its own slate line; 12 fixed guide rails and a fine film grain sit over a near-black frame, and a single yolk-yellow accent marks what to look at next. The offer is laid out so the products do not compete: the course leads, the club runs as a strip under the first screen, the 3 packages sit side by side, mentorship opens an application form instead of a checkout, and the webinar has a landing page of its own. Checkout belongs to the site: one window takes a bank card with Apple Pay and Google Pay, PayPal or cryptocurrency with manual review, applies promo codes and sends paying students the login to their account. Analytics are first-party: time on page, scroll depth and checkout clicks are counted by the site itself, with no Google or Meta tags on the page. Structured data describes the school, both authors, the course, the club and the FAQ, and the whole site runs on Astro and Cloudflare. It measured 99 on mobile and 100 on desktop on 30 September 2026, medians of 3 runs, with 3 self-hosted videos on the homepage.
