(03) — How it works
Written upkeep, no lock-in
Requests by email, answered the same business day.
A care plan runs the way the studio does: you send edit requests by email, the change is made and goes live on your domain, and everything stays on the record. There's nothing to schedule and nothing to chase.
It's optional, always. You own 100% of your site on final payment, so a care plan is a convenience — never a leash. There's no minimum term and no notice period: stop it in any month and you simply take upkeep back in-house. Just launching? Start with a business website or an online store, and add a plan when it suits you.
(04) — What the fee covers
Five things, every month
Hosting, backups, monitoring, updates, edits.
Hosting and SSL. The site stays served with a valid certificate, and renewals happen without you being told about them. Sites we build are static by design — a zero-JavaScript Astro build is plain HTML and CSS at rest — so hosting is cheap to run and hard to break, which is why it sits inside the fee rather than beside it.
Daily backups, kept for a month. A copy is taken every day and held for thirty days, so a bad edit or a failed third-party integration is a restore rather than a rebuild — including one you notice weeks later.
Uptime and security monitoring. The site is watched rather than assumed to be fine — if it goes down or starts answering wrongly, we find out from monitoring, not from you.
Platform updates. Dependencies, build tooling and any connected services are kept current. On a hand-coded site this list is short on purpose: fewer moving parts means fewer updates that can break something.
Content edits. Care Basic includes one minor edit request a month — a price, a phone number, a paragraph, a swapped photo. Care Plus removes the counter: unlimited minor edits on fair use, with a two-business-day priority turnaround on each one, and a monthly speed and SEO health report so you can see the site's condition instead of guessing at it.
(05) — What a plan is not
Upkeep, not a second build
And never a lock-in: the files are yours from final payment.
It is upkeep, not a second build. New pages, a redesign, a new feature or a migration are project work, quoted in writing before anything starts — the same one-time pricing the original build ran on. A plan keeps what exists healthy; it does not quietly become an open-ended retainer for whatever comes up.
Nothing about it is a lock-in either. The code and design files are yours from final payment, documented so any developer can pick them up. If you stop the plan, you keep the site, the domain and the files — you take the upkeep back, not the asset.
The same two people who built the site are on the other end: no account managers and no hand-offs. Requests go to email and are answered the same business day, and the studio behind them is a New York-registered company that has operated under the same name since 2011 — the jurisdiction on your contract, not a marketing label.

The upkeep is identical — both cover hosting, SSL, daily backups, monitoring and updates. What changes is how much changing you do. Care Basic at $95 a month includes one minor content edit a month, which suits a site that settles after launch. Care Plus at $249 a month covers unlimited minor edits on fair use, turns them round within two business days, and sends a monthly speed and SEO report, which suits a site whose prices, offers or team pages keep moving.
Is there a minimum term, and can I stop the plan?
No minimum term. Stop a plan in any month and the site keeps running — you simply take upkeep back in-house or hand it to someone else. That is possible because you own the site outright: the project code and design files transfer to you on final payment of the build, so a care plan is a convenience, never a condition of keeping your site online.
Do I actually need a care plan?
Often not, and we would rather say so. A hand-coded static site has no plugin stack to patch and no database to defend, so if your content changes a couple of times a year and someone on your side is happy to make those edits and renew the domain, skip the plan. Take one when edits are regular, when nobody wants to own the checklist, or when the site is how customers reach you and an outage would cost real money the same day.

Nothing dramatic — the site stays online and simply stops receiving updates and edits from us. The code and design files are yours from final payment, the hosting account is in your name and so is the domain. This is the opposite of a website builder, where the subscription is what keeps the site served: there, when the payments stop, so does the site.
